The Institute was established in 1984 and is Taiwan's earliest professional academic landscape architecture organization. We aim to study gardening landscape education, planning, design, construction, and related knowledge and to improve the academic and professional level of domestic landscape gardening.

The current work plan of the society includes: publishing Landscape Architecture(quarterly) and related books; organizing gardening and landscape academic seminars and associated activities; collecting and promoting domestic and foreign gardening materials and establishing databases; organizing related exhibitions or professional workshops and curriculum; promoting the national examination and verification system for landscape architects.
